Endless waves of CPU fighters: knock each one off to bring in a tougher one. A second foe joins at wave 5, the Mecha King comes every 10th wave. Two lives, and every KO heals you a little.

Goal: hit people to raise their damage %. The higher it is, the farther they fly. Knock them past the edge of the screen to take a stock!
Player 1: left stick or D-pad move (down: crouch / drop / fast fall), □ or △ jump, ✕ attack, ○ special, L1 / R1 shield, L2 grab, R2 power, START pause.
Player 2: plug in a second controller: the same buttons.
Player 1: AD move, W or Space jump, S crouch / drop / fast fall, J attack, K special, L shield, I grab.
Player 2: arrows move and jump, 1 attack, 2 special, 3 shield, 4 grab (number row or numpad). Playing alone, the arrows with Z X C V also work.
Gamepad: stick moves, A attack, B special, X/Y jump, shoulders shield, triggers grab, Start pause.
Attacks: attack alone = jab combo. Hold a direction + attack = tilt. Tap a direction and attack together = smash; keep holding attack to charge it.
Specials: special + up / side / down / nothing gives 4 different moves. Up special is your recovery when you fall off: you can use it once until you land.
Shield: hold it to block. Shield + left/right = roll, shield + down = dodge, shield in the air = air dodge. Grab beats shield!
Ledges: fall near the stage edge to grab it, then climb, jump or attack.
Items: walk over hearts, stars and the rainbow Super Orb (then press special for a huge Super Blast). Press attack on a bat, bomb, ray gun or banana to pick it up: attack swings, fires or throws it, grab throws it. A thrown banana peel trips whoever steps on it.
Survival: endless waves with daily and weekly leaderboards. Reach wave 15 for a rare 💎. Boss Rush (in Arcade): a giant, the Mecha King and Shadow Stick, back to back.
Stages: watch for the ⚡ marks on Storm Tower (lightning strikes there) and the shimmering icicles on Frozen Lake, where the ice is slippery.
Phone: left thumb moves (flick + attack = smash), buttons on the right.
Brawl coins: 🪙 4 per KO, 35 per win and 10 for every match you finish (not in training), 200 for clearing Arcade. Spend them in the Shop on colours, hats, trails, weapons, upgrades and powers. You also still earn stick.cafe coins (3 per KO, 30 per win, 200 for Arcade). Clear Arcade on Legend for a rare 💎, and reach wave 15 in Survival for another.
Powers: equip one in the Shop, then use it in a match with R2 (or the ⚡ button, or U on the keyboard). Upgrades and powers only work when one person is playing.
