Echo Riot: a free co-op arena shooter

Play solo, team up with a friend on one keyboard, or create a LAN room for up to four computers on the same Wi-Fi. If a teammate goes down, stand beside them for two seconds to revive them. In LAN rooms, the host starts the match and chooses the team upgrades.

Rewind up to three seconds of movement and deploy a violet echo. It repeats your route and attacks enemies, while a shockwave clears space for your escape. Echoes last eight seconds; keep collecting green energy to recharge your rewind. There can be up to three echoes at once, or more with the Echo choir upgrade.

Survive each eighteen-second wave to choose a weapon or ability upgrade. Runners chase you, gunners fire projectiles, chargers rush your position, and splitters break into smaller enemies, shielders block shots from the front, and snipers paint a laser before they fire. Golden elites are tougher and always drop a power pack. On wave six, defeat the Paradox Engine. It becomes enraged below half health, firing faster volleys and summoning reinforcements.

Pick a class before a run. The Striker blasts the crowd and goes into Overdrive, the Medic heals the squad and can bring the whole team back, and the Engineer drops turrets and raises a Fortress. Q uses the ability and R the ultimate, which charges from kills. Three bosses take turns: the Paradox Engine, the Mirror Warden that fights with dark copies of you, and the Hive Mother whose eggs hatch into swarms.

Pick a run: Classic (six waves and the Engine), Endless (a boss every sixth wave, for as long as you last), the Daily Riot (the same arena and twist for everyone today), Boss Rush (bosses back to back), the Weekly Event (this week’s twist, the same for everyone) or Versus (a free-for-all for two to four players). Fight on the Neon Grid, in the Ember Foundry with its lava vents, on the Storm Deck where lightning strikes marked spots, in the Frost Vault with its sliding ice and freezing mist, or on the Orbital Ring where gravity wells bend bullets and cover walls slide. Hazards hurt enemies too.

Earn coins and emeralds from your score, then spend them on ten weapons, eleven skins, dash trails and four pets in the shop. Every gun has five mastery levels; the top one turns its rounds gold. Three daily quests pay coins, and fifteen badges mark the big moments. Purchases and loadouts are saved in this browser.
